Season in Brief

This was to be the final season of the regional Third Division so a top 12 place was required to make into the new Third Division. Len Wilkins played the last of 275 games while the the tyros, Terry Paine and John Sydenham, who had broken through into the first team in the previous campaign, both quickly showed their promise with Paine establishing himself as almost ever-present.

It was goals all the way as the Saints scored seven on three occasions and reached a century with six games to spare. 112 was a club record and Derek Reeves' 31 was an individual record for a Saints player.
