Season in Brief

An average season in the League was more than made up for by a fantastic FA Cup run. It was generally agreed that the team froze in the Semi-Final but that shouldn't overshadow their achievement and cup fever was rife in the town.

Ted Bates had brought in three key players, George Kirby, Stuart Williams and Dave Burnside and all three made significant contributions. Another highlight was a well-deserved England debut for Terry Paine.
