Season in Brief

This was a season of decline despite finishing three places higher than the season before. There were departures for Denis Hollywood, Jimmy Gabriel and, with respect to those two, most significantly, legend Ron Davies .

Positives were to be found as Channon finally broke through for his first England cap, Martin completed a second season as ever-present in goal and Fisher proved he had fully recovered from the previous season's broken leg. The latter only missed one start, in the final game of the campaign, in which he was a substitute.
